Shilin A. N., Shilin A. A., Nguen F. T., Le F. S. Abstract. The paper presents the problems of implementation of smart grids in Russia. To solve one of the problems electrical networks must be equipped with informing and measuring systems for monitoring of overhead power lines. It is described current methods of determination of damages and their shortcomings. Wave techniques and methods of resistance are not sufficiently accurate in determination of location of damage and topographic methods are laborious to use. A new method of monitoring based on the analysis of existing methods is suggested. The operating principle of the method is based on registration of change of the electromagnetic field line wires at emergency operations. To expand identificatory characteristics emergency operation in this method is carried out separate control of electric and magnetic fields. The article presents the basic equations for the electric field of three-phase systems for various emergency conditions. From the article in the equations that to identify all emergency modes electric field sensors should be installed in certain coordinates. The article gives examples of structures supports hangers for high-voltage transmission lines. Each design supports hangers necessary to choose the optimal coordinates of the sensors. Analytical determination of the optimal coordinates of the sensors is a challenging task and therefore the problem is solved numerically. A computer program is developed to solve the problem of determining the optimal power on the support of coordinates of the sensors, in which the values of the electric field for different modes have maximum deviation. This program allows the calculation of the electric field for different modes of operation of the line at the specified coordinates cross-section of an overhead power line. For convenience, the program is designed interface that allows you to reach in a single window all the information about the simulated situation. With the help of the developed program were solved specific problems of determining the coordinates of the sensors. Keywords: Computer simulation; Electric field; Electric field sensors; Overhead power lines; Supports of overhead power lines.
